The Lancet Summit: cancer control in China

Feb 21-23, 2025 | Shanghai, China

It is with great pleasure that we announce The Lancet Summit: cancer control in China, a multi-track cancer control conference taking place in Shanghai, China, in 2025.

The conference is brought to you by The Lancet Oncology; the journal previously hosted an event in the vibrant city of Shanghai 10 years ago as part of our long-running Asian Oncology Summit conference series, which ran for many years across multiple countries in the Asia-Pacific region. On this occasion, as The Lancet Summit, we bring together the expertise of five Lancet journals who have collaborated with a renowned Advisory Board to produce a comprehensive programme and a stellar faculty of speakers.

Over 3 days from Feb 21–23, 2025, our esteemed faculty will tackle the challenges posed by the major cancers in China through a lens of cancer control. We have curated a contemporary programme consisting of three parallel tracks covering lung, gastrointestinal, and breast cancers. The meeting will also feature cross-cutting plenary sessions, of interest to all attendees, and a unique half-day symposium dedicated to the importance, design, and critical appraisal of clinical trials. This symposium is brought to you in association with the renowned international organisation, CReDO—International Collaboration for Research Methods Development in Oncology. Finally, we will showcase some of the latest research from across China and beyond in dedicated oral abstract sessions and via poster presentations.

Abstracts are invited by Sept 23, 2024. Online submission is open here.

We hope you find the conference details on this website, coupled with the opportunity to visit Shanghai—a city that combines the allure of a modern metropolis with a rich history and culture—to be a persuasive reason to attend. Your active participation will make The Lancet Summit on cancer control in China a unique and valuable contribution to national clinical practice and health policy.

We look forward to seeing you in Shanghai in 2025!
