Ana Álvarez Pagola, INNODIA and #dedoc°, Spain
Ana Alvarez Pagola is a leading voice in patient engagement and diabetes research advocacy. She currently serves as INPACT Coordinator with INNODIA, where she works to integrate the perspectives of people living with type 1 diabetes into clinical research and strategic decision-making.
She is also Head of Scientific Relations at #dedoc°, a global diabetes community and advocacy platform amplifying the voices, experiences, and expertise of people living with diabetes. In addition, Ana serves as Vice President of the Board of Asociación Diabetes Madrid, contributing to local and national advocacy efforts in Spain.
Living with type 1 diabetes since 2006, Ana brings both professional expertise and personal insight to her work. She is an active member of the International Diabetes Federation’s Blue Circle Voices, contributes to advisory groups, and often represents the diabetes community at international conferences, workshops, and policy discussions. Her work focuses on building bridges between scientific stakeholders and the community, while promoting ethical, transparent, and patient-centred research worldwide.
