I am Professor of Medicine and Population Health at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine, Director of the NYU Diabetes Prevention Program and Section Chief, Holman Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, Metabolism at the VA New York Harbor Healthcare System. My interests focus on diabetes prevention and developing a staging schema for the early detection of prediabetes and type 2 diabetes. International collaborations have found that the 1-hour post-load glucose is a more sensitive marker for detecting individuals at high-risk for progression to type 2 diabetes which served as the basis for the International Diabetes Federation Position Statement (2024).
