Dr. R.M. Anjana is the Managing Director of Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre, which is an International Diabetes Federation (IDF) Centre of Excellence in Diabetes with 51 diabetes centres across 34 cities in 8 states of India, which have registered over 7,00,000 diabetes patients. She is also President of the Madras Diabetes Research Foundation, an Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Centre of Excellence (CCoE) and Asia’s largest standalone diabetes research centre, Chennai, India. She is a Physician Scientist with an MD in internal Medicine and Ph.D. in Epidemiology. Her research focuses on epidemiology of diabetes, nutrition, physical activity and translational research and technology related to diabetes. She is a recipient of several prestigious awards. Dr. Anjana has been selected as a Global Head Chair of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) Group on Physical Activity. She is part of the Expert Committee for development of NCD protocols for the Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centres (HWC), Government of India, and serves as an Expert on the Global Diabetes Monitoring Framework of the World Health Organisation (WHO). She is a member of the IDF Diabetes Atlas (11th and 12th edition). She has published over 470 papers in peer reviewed journals and has a H-index of 91 and i10 index of 358 with 85880 citations.
